Over the years, we have grown the variety of our Sunday evening worship experiences at All Saints -- Evensongs, Jazz Vespers, and Taizé. The past two seasons we have been experimenting with a different form of silence, music and communion which we call Contemplative Eucharist.
Based on the skeletal structure of Episcopal Eucharist, many have come to enjoy the particular meditative rhythm of choral and instrumental music, silence and the beauty of the architecture of All Saints Church. The "homily" is always an instrumental piece (usually piano, organ or keyboard with another solo instrument) and the prayers are said silently, as each worshipper is invited to light a candle at the altar rail or transept. The Contemplative Eucharist is a wonderful way to center and replenish yourself.
